New FDIC Safe Harbor Provisions on Securitizations May Benefit Financial REITs

New FDIC "safe harbor" provisions
on securitizations may benefit Financial REITs as competitors to banks
for investor attention. While final implementation of the new rules is
still pending, FDIC ability to commandeer cash flow from bank securitizations
in case of bank failure may impede bank issues, a provision not impacting
